The application process for admission to the Chennai
Mathematical Institute (CMI) has begun. It will continue until April 4th. The institute offers admission to a total of six programs. The BS (Hons) program is offered after the 12th grade. The remaining programs are for master's degrees and PhDs. The entrance syllabus is based on mathematics, physics, and computer science. An interview is conducted after the written exam, after which the final selection is made. The institute's greatest strengths are its specialized research and global alumni network. Meanwhile, admission to master's and PhD programs is available through GATE, UGC, and CSIR.

100% scholarship for four years to 30 to 35 students:-
According to the institute's information brochure, the tuition fee is ₹1.25 lakh per semester. 30 to 35 students are awarded 100 percent scholarships for four years. Students are selected through screening. After the first semester, talented students are also given a stipend of ₹5,000 per month. Students from families earning less than ₹8 lakh receive a full fee waiver. Students from families earning less than ₹12 lakh receive a 50 percent fee concession.
This is a big change this year
The institute has expanded the BS program to four years, making the BS degree equivalent to a B.Tech. After 12th grade, the institute offers programs like BS Honors in Math, BS in Math and Computer Science, and BS in Math and Physics. The combination of Physics and CS strengthens the course.
Placement in top companies
Students from here also hold jobs at leading companies, including Google, Microsoft Research, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, IBM Research, Tata Consultancy Services, and Honeywell. Most students work on analytics/machine learning projects. Students' work at these companies involves research and development.
Alternative to JEE and ISI
Students who pass out from 12th grade with math also have the option of taking the CMI. That is, they can prepare for the CMI along with the JEE and the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). The syllabus for the exams doesn't vary much. The paper pattern varies for each exam
