What is the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT)?
The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs). The IAT grants admission to the following programs:
- BS-MS (Dual Degree) — 5-year integrated program
- BS (Bachelor of Science) — 4-year program

Eligibility Criteria for IAT 2026
Basic Requirements
- Must be an Indian citizen, OCI, or PIO
- Passed Class 12 in 2024, 2025, or 2026 with Science stream
- Minimum three subjects from: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology
Minimum Marks
- General/OBC/EWS: 60% aggregate
- SC/ST/PwD: 55% aggregate

The IISER entrance exam follows a straightforward Computer-Based Test (CBT) format:

- Total Questions: 60 MCQs
- Subject Distribution: Physics (15), Chemistry (15), Mathematics (15), Biology (15)
- Marking: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted
